Hello ! Let me introduce myself.

I’m Kristina Archer. I’m a lawyer, notary and bilingual.

what law means to me

For me, the practice of law has always been about helping others. About doing everything I can to ensure that people have the representation they need to accomplish their goals. Whether that meant volunteering at Law Help Ontario and helping to guide people in the Legal Aid system, defending accused as they faced criminal allegations, or, more recently working to reunite people with their family and friends in Canada. Throughout it all, helping people, listening to their concerns, and working with them to find a solution that works best for them has been of utmost importance to me.

That’s where my motto comes from:

Targeted solutions for your legal needs.

Every case is unique.

Everyone has a unique story and specific goals.

My job is to work with you to see how best to accomplish those goals.

Whether this process takes days, or several months or years, I will be here for you through the process to make it as easy and cost effective as possible.

Because let’s face it, life is hard enough as it is, the Covid-19 pandemic has been difficult for everyone. Reuniting with family in Canada, travelling to Canada, making plans to study, growing your family in Canada, and planning for the future should not be frustrating too.

I am here to make the process as easy as possible for you.

getting personal

My professional life as a lawyer is only part of who I am. I'm also traveler, a musician, and a lifelong lover of learning about different people, cultures, and languages.

My experiences have shaped who I am as a person - and as a lawyer. I grew up in Canada, surrounded by multiple languages, people from various backgrounds, with many different life stories. There were those who could trace their family history for generations in Canada. Others whose parents were more recent arrivals. And each person brought with them a unique perspective on how to see the world, and how to use those multiple perspectives to make something new, fun, and exciting.

A student of the French Immersion program, French went from something I struggled with learning, to a language I genuinely enjoy. So much so that I did all my university studies in a French only or bilingual environment as much as possible. And while I may not be perfect (some grammar rules will still trip me up!) it's always a fun, and eye-opening experience that has let me see the world in new ways.

It lead me to learning Spanish in high school - don't ask me to speak it now. And while I can understand some of it and respond at least decently, the most fond memories are learning about Selina, Frieda, and Flamenco dancing.

Or trying to learn German while on exchange in France. Of course the class was taught in French so that was an exercise in juggling multiple languages at once! And while a semester of German isn't nearly enough, understanding the basics was extremely helpful in travelling around Europe.

so why tell you all this?

I write this to say that being a lawyer isn't all there is to me. Because I enjoy writing and getting to know people. Whether you'll be a client one day or are just passing through. I started my own firm to bring a compassionate touch to the practice of law. While at the end of the day we all want to see our travel dreams, educational goals, and family plans be successful, we shouldn't lose touch with the connections that we build along the way. The people whose lives we change by our words and actions. That even if we're not perfect or are faced with challenges and difficulties along the way, there's always something important we can learn from the situation. I may not be able to debate philosophy in Spanish or German, but at least I can say "Guten Tag!" and "Es un placer conocerte."

So in the end all I can say is thank you for taking the time to read this and getting to know me. I hope to hear from you soon.

If you ever need any legal advice or help with your immigration questions, I'll be here for you. You can give me a call, send me your questions or comments through the form, or book a consultation.
