Criminal Inadmissability

Do you have a criminal record in your country of origin? Have you been deported from Canada? Maybe a DUI/DWI is preventing you from entering Canada? With my background in criminal law, I can assist you in overcoming your inadmissibility and making your dreams of visiting or moving to Canada one step closer to reality.

If you are inadmissible to Canada because of criminality, I can assist you in obtaining a Temporary Resident Permit or Criminal Rehabilitation, if eligible. To be eligible for Criminal Rehabilitation, at least 5 years must have passed from the date you completed all elements of your conviction for your last offence.  Criminal Rehabilitation is permanent unless you commit another criminal offence after you have been issued your Criminal Rehabilitation.

If less than 5 years have passed, you can apply for a Temporary Resident Permit (TRP). As the name implies, a TRP is for a limited duration. They can be issued for a period of up to 3 years maximum. Once the TRP has expired, you must apply for a new one to enter Canada again.

These applications can be extremely complex, so please contact me for assistance in putting together your application package. With my background in Criminal Defense, I can put this experience to work for you by assisting in creating a strong, concise and compelling  TRP or Criminal Rehabilitation application.

Authorization to Return to Canada

If you have received a removal order such as a Departure Order, Exclusion Order, or a Deportation Order, you may need to apply for Authorization to Return to Canada (ARC). Without this, you may be unable to enter Canada, even if you have no criminal record.

An Immigration Officer will look at the reason why you were issued the removal order and see how your life has changed since then. It is therefore important to show strong ties to your home country, such as employment, education, and family ties. You must also write a letter to the immigration officer explaining the reasons behind the initial removal order, how your life has changed since, and why you would like to enter Canada at this time. I can assist you in drafting a strong letter to the immigration officer.

It is important to ensure that your application is complete and thorough. Like any immigration application, if it is incomplete or illegible, your application will be returned without being processed. This is where I can help! Contact me today to see how I can assist you in completing your application for Authorization to Return to Canada!
